The Farm

Today, there is a hint of the ocean when one arrives at the farm

Quinta São Miguel do Seixo is located in the region of Trás os Montes, in the far north-east of Portugal, near Torre de Dona Chama and 16kms north of Mirandela. The Quinta occupies about 285 hectares of land and possesses an enormous diversity of landscape, soil types, microclimates and vegetation which together permit great versatility and potential for land use and production. The Quinta is crossed by two streams, one flowing north/south and the other east/west, that intersect in a flat, sheltered area of easy access. Here, nestling comfortably in the landscape is situated the group of farm buildings which have been progressively constructed from the earliest times to the present day.

Quality and Certification

DOP Trás-os-Montes oil

The use of the Denomination of Origin requires that the oils are produced according to the rules stipulated in the specification, which includes, in particular, olive varieties, conditions of harvesting and transportation to the mill, working conditions and the characteristics of the olive oil.
